Classification of Living Things

As part of our Science Topic on Classification of Living Things we have created our own Curious Creatures. We have used fabulous adjectives, relevant scientific language and our creative imaginations. After writing a non chronological report about our creatures we drew our creations.


Interview Skype Session - Autumn 1

Year 6 took part in an interactive Skype session with Microsoft as part of our app challenge.


App Challenge - Autumn 1

As part of our app challenge learning year 6 had the Change for Life team in to teach us about keeping healthy. Using Quizdom technology we had to answer questions on how we could live a healthier lifestyle. To encourage us to engage with more exercise we then took part in a static roller bike race. With the winning boy and girl receiving a lunch bag and water bottle as a prize.

Thriller Dance

As part of our dance linked to Halloween year 6 began to learn the thriller dance. Wait till the end of this half term when we will perform it.


Transition Morining - July

Back in July we took part in a transition morning. We spent some time with our new class teacher Mrs Beetham and our HLTA Mrs Moreton. We played team games with inner tubes and plastic cups . To finish we took part in a general knowledge quiz . We all had great time!

App challenge

Everyone at Willow Green Academy has been learning about E-safety and Year 6 have produced some amazing posters. You can see that they know how to use the internet safely!


As part of our Topic this half term we have been learning about E-Safety. We all use the internet most days and we needed to ensure we were aware of the dangers that can be associated with using the World Wide Web. We produced posters and advice leaflets to show these dangers and how we can stay safe whilst using the internet.
